Compositions invited for 2016 John Golland Award

Quartet compositions are invited to be submitted for considerations and performance for the prestigious 2016 RNCM John Golland Award.

The Royal Northern College of Music has announced that it is invited composers to submit works for the 2016 John Golland Award.

Works

Composers aged 18 — 30, are invited to submit new, or previously unperformed works for A4 Brass Quartet (cornet, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium), to be given workshop performances on Saturday 30th January 2016 at the RNCM in Manchester, as part of the RNCM Brass Band Festival.

Selected works should be a maximum of 8 minutes in duration, and up to four works will be selected, depending on length and complexity.

£500/

The selection panel will also select one composer as the recipient of the third John Golland Award. This will take the form of a £500 sum and an invitation to write a short work for brass band to be performed at a future Festival.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
