Tredegar Band has announced that they will travel to the Netherlands in November to provide a concert interlude at the Dutch National Championship in Utrecht.
Invitation
It follows an invitation given by the Nederlandse Brassband Kampionenschappen (NBK) organising committee to the Welsh band following their decision not to compete at the Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead.
The National Championship takes place at the Tivoli Vredenburg Music Centre in Utrecht over the weekend of the 14th/15th November, with Tredegar giving a 'NBK in Concert' presentation under MD Ian Porthouse on the Saturday afternoon.
Very happy
Details were finalised at the British Open Championship in Birmingham on the weekend with a NBK spokesperson telling 4BR: "We are very happy to invite Tredegar to perform at our National Championship.
They have a fantastic reputation as one of the most entertaining and inventive bands in the world, so we look forward to welcoming them to Utrecht, where this year we will have a record 45 competing bands."
