The Worshipful Company of Musicians will make the traditional presentations of the Iles Medal and Mortimer Medal at the 163rd British Open Championship at Symphony Hall this weekend.
Richards and Rigg
For this first time in its history, the prestigious Iles Medal will be awarded posthumously, in recognition of the outstanding contribution to the brass band movement made by hugely respected Cornish composer Goff Richards, who died in June 2011. The presentation will be made to Goff's widow, Sue.
The Mortimer Medal will be presented to Lee Rigg, in recognition of his services for teaching of young people in the brass band movement, through his inspirational work with the Wardle Academy.
The presentations will be made as part of the results ceremony alongside the announcement of the recipients of the Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust awards.

Study scores of the British Open set work, 'Reflections on Swan Lake' by Stephen Roberts will be available on the day for people to purchase.
