Kapitol Promotions has announced that Helen Williams, the highly-respected flugel star who has recently relocated to South Wales to play with Cory Band, has joined the Brass Band Players Registry team.

Helen will be working primarily as Deputy Registrar, but will also be assisting in the background administration for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

Head start

Helen told 4BR: "Having been a Contest Secretary it gives me something of a head-start into the workings of the Registry, and like everyone at Kapitol Promotions I'm passionate about brass banding.

I'm really looking forward to the new challenges."

BBP Registrar Tim Jones added: "Helen is widely respected in the banding world and has a passion and dedication towards the movement.

I'm sure her experience gained in previous roles as a civil servant and as Contest Secretary of Foden's and Marsden Bands will stand her in good stead in her new role as Deputy Registrar."
