Derwent Brass has announced the signing of tenor trombone players Tim Mossad and Blaise Andrews.
Tenor troms
Tim comes in on solo trombone to replace Martyn Johnson, who has decided to concentrate on his 'Big Band' playing opportunities after enjoying many successful years with the Derbyshire based band.
Tim has played with several other leading bands, the most recent of which was Newstead Brass.
Meanwhile, Blaise takes over from Max Stannard whose personal career progression sees him move away from the area.
Blaise has enjoyed a substantial playing history with particularly strong military link, having played with the 3rd Battalion (Quebec) Queens Regt Band, 1 PWRR Band, Adjutant Generals Corps Band, Band of the Dragoon Guards, and more recently, the Band of the Kings Division.
Talented section
Derwent MD Keith Leonard told 4BR: "I'm delighted to welcome Tim and Blaise. They have a wealth of experience and in joining bass trombonist John Hickling, will form a very talented section that I eagerly look forward to working with."

Thanks
A Band spokesperson added: "The committee of Derwent Brass would like to thank both Martyn and Max for their outstanding time with us, and in particular would like to acknowledge the impressive tenure of Martyn which spanned over a decade as a highly respected and talented solo trombonist.
We give a warm welcome to Tim and Blaise who are clearly going to form a very strong section."
