The University of Salford has been delighted by the outcome of the results of the recent influential National Student Survey.
The University was shown to be the second highest climber in the University sector for 2015, and with its Music Degree course, achieved an average of 92% for overall satisfaction across its three BA Music (Hons) programmes of Musical Arts (Band & Classical Musicianship), Popular Music & Recording and Creative Music Technology.
Worked hard
Programme Leader Brett Baker told 4BR: "We have worked hard on improving student experience this year and staff members were delighted with the outcome.
As the oldest running course in band musicianship, Salford is still the only University to offer specialist conducting tuition through a dedicated brass band known as the Adelphi Band.
We are also the only institution to offer solo brass performance as a module option within the degree course with the finest instrumental teachers available in the brass band movement."
This increase in overall satisfaction is a trend that I see continuing in 2015-16Programme Leader, Brett Baker
Continuing trend
He added: "This increase in overall satisfaction is a trend that I see continuing in 2015-16, particularly in light of more appointments in staff, expansions in postgraduate study for brass players from September and the exciting move to new premises in 2016."
