The non contesting community based Stour Concert Brass, part of Shipston Town Band organisation, recently gave a concert in their nearby village of Ilmington in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of VJ Day.
As Time Goes By
The second half of the highly enjoyable concert programme was devoted to music from the 1940's, with classics such as, 'As Time Goes By' from the film 'Casablanca', 'Chatanooga Choo Choo' and 'The White Cliffs of Dover' all featured.
The band also introduced its own take on the Andrews Sisters, with youngsters Bethan Bown, Megan Barker and Sasha Turner performing 'Don't Sit under the Apple TreeStour Concert Brass
