The amazing Jager Maestros Oompah Band is set to make a huge musical impression at the Edinburgh Festival this year.
The truly unique band, which was formed in 2013 by front-man Chris Haigh and friends, can be seen in action as part of the famous Edinburgh 'Fringe', at 'Venue 38' not far from the Royal Mile (SpaceTriplex — The Prince Phillip Building, 19 Hill Place, Edinburgh EH8 9DP).
Week long
It's not just a one off performance either — but each afternoon (4.00pm) from Sunday 16th — Sunday 23rd August.
The band comprises four trumpets; Paul Duffy, Dave Moore, Lindsay Marson & Neale Hobson; 4 trombones — Ryan Watkins, Chris Gommersall, Ben Wright & Garrath Beckwith; euphonium — James Garlick; sousaphone — David Clegg and a drummer — George Webster — alongside Chris, who acts as the master of ceremonies.
Fantastic opportunity
He told 4BR: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the band to make a name for ourselves on perhaps the biggest entertainment stage of all.
We were head hunted for the event — and already we have been inundated for tickets and requests for interviews. It seems the talent scouts have been tipped off too!"
Top Pick
That has certainly been confirmed following the Maestros being named as 'Top pick for the Fringe' by Newcastle's Metro Radio, Night Owls programme hosted by comedian and star of BBC Sitcom Hebburn, Steffen Peddie.
Chris added: "That was fantastic to hear — especially given the amount and quality of the acts that are on show every day and night in the city. Ultimately though we want banders, especially Scottish banders, to get behind us on this venture and come and see us when we are up at the Fringe."
Sell out gigs
This latest performance opportunity comes on the back of the ensembles sell out shows at the Manchester Bierkeller where over 500 people packed in to enjoy the signing dancing and just the odd stein or two of liquid refreshment.
The band has already gained plenty of support with Black Dyke's Director of Music, Prof Nicholas Childs already seen wearing the obligatory 'Edinburgh' tee-shirt!

Family show
Chris added: "We aim to deliver a real family orientated show — and with our ever increasing fan base we are determined to become one of the highlights of this year's fringe."
