The Camborne Band has accepted an invitation to perform at the 'Festival Interceltique' (Inter-Celtic Festival) in Lorient, Brittany this weekend.
This annual 10-day festival takes place in the heart of the city and is dedicated to the cultural traditions of the Celtic nations — from music to painting, sport to gastronomy.
This year brass bands from both Cornwall and the Isle of Man are to be featured, with Camborne joining the Rushen Silver Band in concert performances.
Grand Parade
Camborne's first appearance will see them take part in the opening Grand Parade where they join around 3000 artists marching through the streets in front of around 60,000 people.
In the afternoon they will perform a concert in the Lorient stadium and then in the evening another in the specially erected Cornish Pavillion. On Monday afternoon they will be featured in the gala concert.
