The famous — and truly unique Hardraw Scar contest — reputed to be the second oldest brass band competition in the world — will take place at the wonderful natural open air auditorium near Hawes in Wensleydale on Sunday 13th September.
Inspired
The bucolic beauty spot once inspired the great painter J W M Turner and in the past few years it has certainly captured the imagination of audiences and competing bands alike.
This year, 12 bands including two from the First Section and three each from the Second, Third and Fourth alongside the local unregistered Leyburn Band will entertain the crowds with their entertainment programmes as they enjoy their picnics and a few ales from the Green Dragon Inn.
