Elland Silver Youth has just received yet another accolade after performing at the prestigious national 'Music for Youth' festival at Birmingham's Symphony Hall.
The five day event features performances by some of the UK's most talented young musicians, with over 8,000 young people taking part.
Fifth time
This was the fifth time the current Action Research Entertainment champion have been invited to perform at the event, but the first time they have received a prestigious 'Innovation Award'.
Elland's performance featured several unique arrangements to showcase their array of talented soloists. Their highly entertaining set consisted of the Barry Manilow hit, 'One Voice', Bernstein's 'I Feel Pretty', 'Smile' by Charlie Chaplin and their show stopping finale 'I'm a Brass Band' by Cy Coleman.
Fantastically stytlish
All of the bands soloists, performed their items from memory, and used choreography to feature different each section.
Music Mentor, Andy Grappy described the playing as, '"fantastically stylish performance, with lots of vigour, panache and style."

Thrilled
MD Samantha Harrison told 4BR: "I was absolutely thrilled with the performance — it was faultless. The band rose to the challenge of playing from memory.
They are an incredible bunch of young people, always hard working and ready for a new challenge."
The band will now wait to hear if they will be invited to perform at the Music For Youth Schools Prom, held at the Royal Albert Hall, November.
