Smithills School Senior Band may have created yet another record performance in their impressive 25 year history following their latest appearance at Disneyland Paris.
Meteorological first
This time it wasn't the addition of yet more trophies or accolades to add to their bulging trophy cabinet collection under MD Chris Wormald, but something of a meteorological first — after they performed in temperatures that touched 38C on American Independence Day at the famous resort.
All I can do is thank the band for providing a thrilled audience with a simply superb performance in the hottest conditions I can ever recallMD, Chris Wormald
Memorable
Chris told 4BR: "We very rarely perform outdoor concerts, but when we do they tend to be memorable — from the Japanese Embassy in Tokyo and Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand, to The Huntington Waterfront in West Virginia.
All of those were hot, but this time we think we surpassed it. All I can do is thank the band for providing a thrilled audience with a simply superb performance in the hottest conditions I can ever recall."
