Former Hatfield Band soprano player, Mike Kilmartin recently returned to his former band to present them with a commemorative 'cover' of his Butlins test piece, 'Three Folk Song Settings for Band', which was used to critical acclaim at the Skegness event earlier this year.

The cover was signed by Mike as well as the two contest judges David Thornton and Chad Shoopman.

At the request of Hatfield MD Stan Lippeatt (above with Mike), Mike arranged the piece for the Butlins event and in doing so dedicated the piece to the memory of his great friend and long serving Hatfield Band conductor, Graham O'Connor.

Additionally, Mike kindly donated monies from his commission of the piece and also gave a full set of band parts to the band, courtesy of BVT publishing.
