The Flowers Band has just completed the first of two high profile concert performances at the renowned Cheltenham Music Festival.
The Butlins champion has become a regular attraction at the event, which attracts leading performers from around the world in the orchestral, jazz, easy listening, opera, folk and even rock genres.
Exhibition
Following their recent Children's Concert at Cheltenham Town Hall attended by over 700 eager youngsters and their families, and previewed by a number of instrumental workshops for budding trombonists, cornetists and would be tenor horn players, they will now return on July 11th to give one of the festival's finales.
The band will join forces with the author and illustrator James Mayhew to bring to life the fantastical creatures and landscapes of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition'.
Illustrations
As Flowers under MD Paul Holland makes its way through the famous musical gallery, so Mayhew creates live his own take of the pictures on a huge multi-media screen behind the band.
Alongside the work will also be performances of 'Mars' by Gustav Holst, Grieg's 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' and 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' — all with added quick drawn imagery.
Fans
James Mayhew himself is certainly a fan of the band, calling them 'sensational' for providing 'an amazing experience' through his Twitter account, after they previewed parts of 'Pictures' and 'Mars' at the packed Children's event.
On parent later remarked through Twitter that the concert had been 'brilliant' and that her children had travelled home in the car pestering her to play a brass band instrument.

"We thoroughly enjoying our regular concerts performances, but have undoubtedly gained a new following through our appearances at this world renowned festival.
People are delighted to hear a brass band in such a different musical setting, and we are delighted to be able to do it justice."
