The increasing demand for vinyl recordings has seen composer Simon Dobson launch a 'retro' version of his latest CD 'Euneirophrenia'.
And with it comes Simon's belief that it may also be the first new vinyl release featuring a major brass band test piece for nearly 30 years.
Through the roof
"I didn't really give it a great deal of thought at first to be honest,"he told 4BR. "Demand for the CD has been great, so we decided to get a vinyl version out as the 'retro' market for LPs has just gone through the roof."
Symphony of Colours
At the recent launch at the famous 'rock and punk' Junction Club in Plymouth, Simon was amazed to get talking to someone who pointed out the fact that his 'Symphony of Colours', which was used by the Fairey Band at the European and English National Championship in 2011 could well be the first vinyl test piece release for three decades!

Bit odd
"That was a bit odd,"he added: "Especially given that the club was packed with a fantastic assortment of rockers, jazz lovers and punks!
However, a few of us in my group 'Badcore Horns' tried to find out more between our performances on the night and were happy to announce a new 'first' — much to delight of the audience who were having a great time of it!"
