Blackburn & Darwen to host new march & hymn tune event

To help celebrate their 175th anniversary, the Blackburn & Darwen Band will host a brand new march & hymn tune contest.

As part of their 175th anniversary celebrations the Blackburn & Darwen Band is to hold a brand new 'March & Hymn Tune' contest on Sunday 13th September.

The contest will take place in Darwen Town Centre where competing bands will battle for a generous prize pot of totalling over £3,000.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "This promises to be a great event for bands and families alike. Darwen provides a great selection of cafes, bars and restaurants offering all types of cuisine within easy walking distance of the town centre."
