The lovely market town of Pershore will once again play host to the popular Midsummer Brass Festival which has been held annually since its revival in 2010.
The event will kick off around 10.00am on Saturday 4th July with the traditional fanfare given from the local Abbey tower.
Heart warming
It heralds the start of one of the most harmonious and heart-warming days in the British brass banding calendar, with about two dozen bands performing at four different venues at various times across the day.
Free to all-comers, Chapman Court sees a host of junior as well as senior bands entertaining the shoppers for well over six non-stop hours, with the likes of debutants Nunnery Wood School Brass Ensemble taking their turn alongside established top flight bands such as Enderby.
Angel Inn
Meanwhile, the relaxed atmosphere outside the lovely Angel Inn will start sounding to brass with Cleobury Mortimer. There will be a host of other great bands to follow, such as regular entertainers Tongwynlais Temperance from Wales.
Like all the local Midland bands that will also perform during the day, they will also be able to enjoy a cooling pint of beer after their performance in the garden next to the large marquee set up at the rear of the pub.
Pershore Abbey
Local favourites Avonbank, Arrow Valley, Shipston and Bretforton are sure to please where ever they perform whilst the Championship Section Shirley Band will be giving their all in the Baptist Chapel, situated at the mid-point between the Inn and Pershore Abbey.
From further afield, the likes of Enderby, Brackley, Bilton and Bedworth will also keen to make their mark on the knowledgeable PMB audiences.
The ever popular Jaguar Land Rover Band will end the day at the Abbey with what will most definitely be a blockbuster of a performance, although not to be out done, the Staffordshire Band will be bringing the day to a close at the Angel Inn around 10.00pm.
So, what's not to love about an event which is family friendly, mixes great brass band music with lovely food, plenty to drink and the chance to look around one of the most beautiful market towns in the UK4BR
