Tredegar Band has performed as part of the annual Pride celebrations that took place in London on the weekend.
750,000
Over 750,000 people lined the streets to enjoy one of the world's largest celebrations of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender culture and inclusiveness, which this year had the theme of 'Pride Heroes' at its core.
Tredegar joined over 250 groups — including trade unions, leading international businesses, pressure groups and organisations in the march from Baker Street to Trafalgar Square — with the huge number of participants meaning that the 1.5 mile route took nearly three hours to complete.
Invite
The band was invited to take part following its role in the BAFTA award winning film 'Pride' and once again joined leading actors such as Andrew Scott and Paddy Considine, alongside the South Wales Gay Men's Choir, organisations such as Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM were the inspiration for the film) and major trade unions on the march.
With historic colliery banners flying alongside the rainbow coloured 'Gay Pride' flags the band performed marches such as 'Old Comrades' and 'Death or Glory' as well as specially requested items such as 'YMCA', 'Go West' and 'Abba Hits' which kept the crowds entertained.

Such a lift
Mike Jackson of the LGSM told 4BR: "The band was amazing, and gave us all such a lift — as they did with the film.
The reaction of the massive crowds was brilliant. I think they have gained a new fan base!"
Fantastic occasion
Tredegar MD Ian Porthouse added: "It was a simply fantastic occasion and a real honour and pleasure to be a part of. The welcome, the fun and the sheer inclusiveness of the event was something else. Now we can't wait to do it all again!"
