Cheltenham Silver Band has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Nigel Galliott.
The former tuba player with Stinchcombe, Lydbrook and more recently A. W. Parker Drybrook, swapped his bass for the baton for the first time at their 2014 Christmas concert, before leading them to a fine fourth place at the West of England Regional Championship in March.
Opportunity
Now he has taken the opportunity to lead the band on a permanent basis — and had no hesitation in saying yes when asked by the band.
"I really enjoyed the Area contest appearance and was delighted with the result", he told 4BR. "It was an honour to be asked to take the role of MD on a permanent basis and I was delighted to accept."
