Ty Cerdd and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff have announced the formation of the National Youth Training Band of Wales.
Training day
This brand new brass band will give young players (aged up to 16 years and of around grade 5 standard) the opportunity in 2015 to work under the direction of Philip Harper at an inaugural youth training day.
In July the Cory MD will also conduct the National Youth Brass Band of Wales in concerts at Gwyn Hall, Neath and the Dora Stoutzker Hall at the RWCMD.
Inspired
Philip told 4BR: "I'm delighted to invite players to apply for the National Youth Training Band day, when we will have a lot of fun putting together a varied programme of items for a short final concert.
They will learn lots of new approaches, play alongside a variety of like-minded people in an amazing building, and be inspired by some fabulous tutors who will give you their own tips from the top.
It will all be a great experience, so I look forward to seeing everyone on October 17th in Cardiff."
The National Youth Training Band inaugural day will be held at the RWCMD in Cardiff and is supported by the conservatoire's staff and senior students4BR
