Camilla Soderstrom Tveit, the outstanding bass trombone player of Manger Musikklag, recently performed her final recital for her Masters Degree in Bergen, where she was joined by colleagues from both her own and the Eikanger Bjorsvik Band.
Eight trombones
One of the works Camilla performed was the spectacular 'Scherzo Funebre' by Derek Bourgeois — written for eight trombones — so who better to accompany her than her friends from both bands.
It was something of a performance first — with the ensemble (above) helping Camilla alongside her other recital artists from Manger Musikklag Band under MD, Rune Hannisdal and musicians from both the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Navy Band based in Bergen.
Fantastic
"It has been the most fantastic get together, and worth the whole of my Master studies just to enjoy this occasion to perform this piece,"Camilla told 4BR. "I must thank everyone for agreeing to help me in this way — it was truly memorable."

Very happy
Vidar Nordli from Eikanger-Bjorsvik added: "We were very happy to be asked to do this, and it has been great to play with the Manger group and Camilla who is a fantastic player."
