Steven Booth, former Black Dyke, Leyland and Fairey solo baritone player, who has spent over 30 years promoting the baritone as a solo instrument, scored another world first for the instrument recently.
World premiere
Steven performed the world premiere of a new version of the famous 'Rule Britannia' variations with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra at Auckland Town Hall in front of a capacity audience of 1700 people as part of the APO '"Discovery'.
Amazing experience
He told 4BR: "It was an amazing experience. And has a baritone ever been featured as a soloist with a full professional orchestra before? It has now!"
