Peter Moore, Principal Trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra, and a Yamaha global artist, has been featured in a short film designed to inspire young performers.
Global artist
Just 19 himself, Peter was the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year title and was awarded a Yamaha Scholarship whilst studying at Chethams School in Manchester — all before taking up his role with the LSO.
He is now a Yamaha global artist and plays the Yamaha XENO trombone for recording and concert work.
Film
Peter has now collaborated with Yamaha to produce a short film designed to inspire and inform other young players to hopefully follow in his footsteps.
In it he talks about his love of brass bands and the crucial role that they have played in his musical development. He still performs with them whenever he has the opportunity to return home to Manchester.
Yamaha relationship
On his relationship with Yamaha, Peter told 4BR: "I've played Yamaha from an early age and my Yamaha XENO trombone provides the direct, yet warm sound I need.
It's very free-blowing and it can produce every style and does everything I need."
