The Fairey Band has announced a quartet of new signings ahead of the second half of the major contesting season.

New signings

Martin Davies and Adam Neild join the cornet ranks whilst Jonti Smith and Harry Cunningham fill the second euphonium and solo EEb vacancies respectively.

Band Manager Nigel Beasley told 4BR: "Martin is a very established player who arrives after playing principal cornet with Bollington Band for over a decade, whilst Adam is an exceptional young talent who has played assistant principal cornet at Hepworth and has been principal cornet of the National Children's Brass Band and the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain."

All four players are looking forward to exciting, challenging and rewarding times with Faireys under Garry Cutt and Tom DavorenBand Manager, Nigel Beasley

Youth and experience

He added: "Jonti is another highly experienced player and takes the euphonium chair after several years in a similar position with the Leyland Band, whilst Harry, who will study at the RNCM in Manchester in September is making a name for himself as the principal tuba player of the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.

All four players are looking forward to exciting, challenging and rewarding times with Faireys under Garry Cutt and Tom Davoren."
