4BR has been informed that due to a lack of interest organisers have had to take the decision to cancel the proposed Rainford March & Hymn Tune Contest, which was due to take place on 24th May.

Regretful decision

A spokesperson told 4BR: “The organisers have regretfully decided to cancel the 2015 event due to insufficient band entries at the application closing date.

All bands that have entered will have their entry fees returned in full within the next few days."

They added: "Rainford Band apologises for any inconvenience caused and will hopefully resurrect the contest at some future and more suitable date.”
