Edinburgh and London in twinning first

It will be a tale of two cities for future players of Edinburgh Brass Band and North London Brass Network...

Edinburgh

Brass bands from the two ancient capital cities of the UK will be joining forces after Edinburgh Brass Band and North London Brass Network announced their unique ‘twinning association’ initiative.

Twinned

Where most UK brass bands play concerts or exchange players through twinned home towns, Edinburgh Brass and NLBN believe they have become the first two organisations to twin through the bands themselves.

Both are focused on revitalising grassroots banding, aiming to provide opportunities for brass band musicians to have fun and play music with like-minded people, with the twinning also providing a ‘second home’ for players from each ensemble working or travelling in each other’s city.

We hope that, in time, other bands will follow suit and see the benefits of making musical connections across the countryEdinburgh Brass Band

Benefits

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Brass Band told 4BR: “We are delighted to be so closely linked with a band as vibrant and forward-thinking as North London Brass Network.

We hope that, in time, other bands will follow suit and see the benefits of making musical connections across the country.

Both bands are looking forward to performing together and seeing what future projects bring to both ensembles.”
