Grimethorpe to lead youth day

Grimethorpe stars set to pass on their knowledge and expertise to new youth generation.

Dr Robert Childs and the star players of Grimethorpe Colliery Band are preparing to pass on their knowledge and expertise to the next generation of brass players through the latest Grimethorpe Youth Band rehearsal day.

Free

The event, supported by Besson Musical Instruments, takes place on Saturday 28th March between 10.00am and 4.30pm, and is free to anyone to attend who is under the age of 19 and is at Grade 4 standard or above.

The course day takes place at Shafton Advanced Learning Centre in Barnsley and will be led by Grimethorpe’s Director of Music.

The course will feature tutors from Grimethorpe Colliery Band, including the recent award winning soloists Michael Dodd and Ian Culross.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
