With just weeks to go to the fiercely contested Welsh Area contest in Swansea, top section contenders Tylorstown has confirmed that they have signed the experienced trombone trio of Barry John, Chris Gardener and Julian Kerrell.
Immediate impact
MD Gary Davies told 4BR: “We’re pleased to be able to welcome these talented players to the band. They have already made an immediate impact in rehearsals and at the recent Welsh Open, and we’re naturally very happy to know that they are going to be a permanent feature as we seek to strengthen the band.”

First class bandsmen
Band Manager Kevin Jones added, “At the end of the year we had to recognise that our long time EEb lead Lyndon Baker would be ruled out due to a health problem. Len Dennett moved across to fill the EEb seat and Andrew Pryse came in on baritone.
The combination of internal moves and new signings just goes to show that we have some really great players but more importantly, some first class bandsmen too.”
