Geneva links with German National Champion

Geneva Instruments connects with German National Champion, 3BA to boost German brass banding hopes...

The reigning German National Champion, Bayerische Brass Band Akademie (3BA) has announced that they have joined in a new collaborative partnership with Geneva Instruments.

Enormous

Band Chairman Jörg Seggelke told 4BR: “The collaboration between Geneva Instruments and 3BA means very much to us.

Our first contact with Geneva was established when we enquired about trialling their instruments. Since then we have amazed at the enormous enhancement these instruments have made to us as a band.

The sound, response and intonation were superb and suited us immediately, and we were instantly convinced by the instrument manufacturing. The Geneva instruments have changed the sound of 3BA in such a positive way.”

Perfect sound

Jörg continued: “It soon became clear that we were dealing with absolute specialists who have such a passion for what they do, and only want to achieve one thing — the perfect brass band sound.

In addition, this collaboration gives us the opportunity to meet with their team of great musicians and conductors in the international brass band scene, which we believe will help us further improve and create even more interest in the growing brass band movement in Germany.”

New youth band

Jörg revealed that 3BA will now start a new youth band to help develop the next generation of German brass band talent.

“With Geneva’s support we are now able to start a youth development programme. This will be the first of its kind in the country and offer an exciting new opportunity for young brass musicians.”

Pleasure

He concluded: “The collaboration has been a great success and it has been a pleasure working with Geneva.

We are also keen to further develop our relationship, starting immediately as we prepare to participate in the Championship Section of the European Brass Band Championships — a real first for a German brass band.”

Delighted

Geneva Instruments Sales Director John Hudson was delighted by the new partnership and in opening up yet another new market area for the company.

“It’s been a real pleasure to deal directly with 3BA. They have a similar outlook to ours at Geneva Instruments, and we will relish the opportunity to assist in the further develop of the brass band movement in Germany, which has shown itself to be a growing and enthusiastic banding culture.”
