Dyke double demand sells out Dronfield

If you want to hear Black Dyke in action in Derbyshire next month then you have left it too late — as their Dronfield appearance is a complete sell out.

4BR has been informed that Black Dyke’s forthcoming concert appearance at Dronfield Sports Centre in Derbyshire on Saturday 21st March is a complete sell out.

And such has been the demand for tickets that the organisers have told 4BR that they could have held two concerts on the same day and still had a queue waiting to get in!

Twice over

Pondasher fans have ensured that the ‘Double Champions’ will play to a packed sell out audience, with a council spokesperson telling 4BR: “It’s been an amazing response. We could have held two concerts by Black Dyke and filled the hall twice over.

It’s given us a wonderful headache — but one that goes to show that there is such a vibrant brass band community in the area eager to support events such as this and the Bolsover Festival of Brass.”

Workshop places

Although there are still some places left for the Black Dyke workshops, there are no tickets available for the concert itself.

Cambrian Brass

Delph Band

May 15 • We are seeking an enthusiastic and musically skilled Associate Conductor to lead and develop our band alongside our current Musical Director Phil Goodwin. . Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8-10pm at Delph Band Club.


Tintwistle Band

May 15 • We have a vacancy for a soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled!. We rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle, under the baton of our superb MD, Jim Henson.
