Three leading brass stars will be showcased as performers at Birmingham Conservatoire's forthcoming ‘Festival of Wind & Brass’.
Superbrass
The event takes place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd February, will see Owen Farr, James Fountain and Matthew White featured alongside the talents of the remarkable Superbrass ensemble.
Owen Farr will direct the Conservatoire Brass Band and give a masterclass alongside Tredegar's virtuoso principal euphonium Matthew White, whilst James Fountain, the newly appointed Principal Trumpet of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will give a cornet and trumpet masterclass.

Conservatoire Head of Brass, Chris Houlding is delighted to welcome Superbrass, the London based ensemble led by bass trombone legend Roger Argente in a scintillating programme which also features the talents of Mike Lovatt, Andy Wood, Matthew Gee and Chris Parkes.

Kick off
The Festival kicks off on Friday 20th February with the Conservatoire Wind & Brass Ensembles featuring works Gliere and Stravinsky as well as Elgar Howarth's iconic arrangement of ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ in concert entitled 'A Blast from Russia”.
