The Diggle Band will be enjoying a little bit of Yorkshire born, Swiss cornet playing expertise as they take to the stage at the North West Regional Championship in Blackpool next month.

The highly experienced Angelo Bearpark is making an emotional return to one of his former bands to meet up with old friends and play at the Area contest — fresh from his solo prize winning exploits at the Swiss National Championships last November.

I’m simply thrilled to be able to play at the Area contests again — there are no other events like them in the banding world

“I’m really looking for to it,” he told 4BR. “I will be back in the UK from 15th to the 20th February playing principal cornet with Diggle, then return again the week before the contest.
