Yorkshire's Cornerstone Brass has welcomed Catherine Thompson to the band.
Catherine, who joins on second trombone is a product of the Salvation Army in Portadown, Northern Ireland and won a trombone scholarship for the Star Lake Music Camp in 1995.

She is also a member of numerous brass ensembles including the Belfast based Festival Brass, Castleford SA trombone quintet, and Salvation Brass, with whom she is undertaking an Easter tour of Ontario, Canada.
Catherine also formed her own trombone quartet at Ossett Academy and is currently involved in a critically acclaimed musical duo with Ruby Macintosh, a renowned singer songwriter from Wakefield.

Catherine will make her her first ever contest appearance at the Yorkshire Area Championship in Bradford.
