The Poulton-le-Fylde Band has strengthened their playing ranks under MD Dave Collins, as they look forward to the Area contest in Blackpool in a few weeks time.
Signings
Their vacant solo euphonium seat has been filled by the return of Glenn MacPhee, who rejoins after almost five years away due to work commitments. He will be joined in the section by Kris Howles from Wardle Anderson.
Meanwhile, Eddie Webb joins on second trombone following a period with Marple, with Sam Jennings coming in on bass trombone from the Royal Northern College of Music. Peter Mercer joins the percussion section alongside Andy Collins also from Wardle Anderson.
Navy loss
Following another busy Christmas period, the band sadly lost the services of Eb tuba Sam McDougall as he continues his career in the Merchant Navy, but is pleased to welcome Toby Campbell, who has a long connection with the band, to replace him.
Finally, a re-shuffle in personnel sees Janet Taylor take the solo baritone role with John and Christine Wood returning on solo horn and cornet respectively.
We welcome all these players as we look to develop innovative and exciting concert programmes in 2015, whilst we also strive to perform at the highest possible standard in all that we doMD, Dave Collins
