The domestic Welsh contest season will open in Porthcawl on February 21st, with a spicy cross-border battle at the Grand Theatre in Porthcawl, as a dozen well matched bands battle for the Welsh Open Entertainment title.
Dozen challengers
Nine Welsh bands are joined by a trio of English challengers to see if they can lay their hands on the magnificent CISWO Challenge Trophy and £1,000 first prize, courtesy of adjudicator Simone Rebello.
Champions
Reigning champion Tongwynlais Temperance will look to retain its title, although they will be faced with contenders from as far afield as debutants Goodwick in West Wales to Staines and Sandhurst near London in their bid to make it two wins in a row.
AW Parker (Drybrook) takes their place in the contest thanks to their outstanding victory at the Miners Entertainment Contest last September.
