UniBrass workshops details released

There will be plenty of things to do as well as listen to at the UniBrass Championships this year — with great workshops led by Cory and Jaguar Land Rover Bands...

UniBrass

The UniBrass Championship organisers have announced details of their public workshops, for both adults and children, to be held at the Warwick Arts Centre on 14th February, led by players from the Cory and Jaguar Land Rover Bands.

Workshops

The workshops will take place during the popular UniBrass competition and aim to give players of all ages a chance to engage with banding at university level like never before.

Amazing

Gwynfor Bonsels from UniBrass, told 4BR: “Our education programme for UniBrass 2015 looks set to be absolutely amazing.

We have the world’s number one ranked band, Cory, running our free morning public workshops as part of the Cory Academy, whilst in the afternoon we host a ‘Day of Brass’ run by Jaguar Land Rover Band and Warwickshire County Music Services.

The workshops are open to both children and adults, and will be split by ability. The day will also include a lunchtime concert performance from the participants on the stage of the Butterworth Hall with the Cory tutors.”

Details

The UniBrass organisers have expressed their gratitude to Besson Instruments for sponsoring the free Cory workshop, whilst the ’Day of Brass’ workshop run by Jaguar Land Rover Band and Warwickshire County Music Services for children aged between 7 and 18, will cost £10.

Gwynfor added: “Combined, these look set to provide an absolutely amazing day for the teaching of brass! My suggestion is why not make a day of it and sign up for both!”
