4BR Christmas Quiz: The Winner!

Someone will certainly be enjoying a great musical New Year thanks to John Packer and 4BR!

Flugel horn

Thanks to everyone who entered our special Christmas Quiz this year — it was our biggest entry ever — all looking to get their hands on a great JP175 flugel horn worth over £400 from John Packer.

Easy answer

All you had to do was answer the ‘easy’ brain tickler we set, which was: Which star flugel player won Best Instrumentalist prizes at this year’s British Open in Birmingham and National Championship Finals in London?

The answer was of course the wonderful Zoe Hancock of Black Dyke.

The winner

We put all the correct answers into an electronic hat and out came the name of Lynda Brown of Dudley in the West Midlands.

I enter all the 4BR quizzes, but didn’t think I would be in with a chance. It’s really made my Christmas now!Quiz winner, Lynda Brown

Thrilled

We spoke to her this morning and she was understandably thrilled to have won the John Packer JP175 flugel horn.

“Circumstances meant I had to stop playing cornet with Leicester Co-operative Band earlier this year, and I’ve been without an instrument now for some time,” she said.

“I’ve been desperate to get back to playing so this fantastic prize has given me the ideal opportunity. I can’t wait to start practicing again.

I enter all the 4BR quizzes, but didn’t think I would be in with a chance. It’s really made my Christmas now!”

4BR will be sending the flugel horn to Linda as soon as the local post office opens…
