The world’s number 1 ranked band has announced the appointment of Christopher Bond as Associate Composer.
The talented young Cornishman will provide Cory with a major commission every year for a period of three years, as well as being involved in a number of smaller creative projects.
Worked together
Christopher studied for four years at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) during which he worked with a number of Cory players, culminating in the composition of ‘A New Dawn’, the title track Owen Farr's recently-released solo CD.
Cory MD Philip Harper told 4BR: “I'm so pleased to be able to announce this appointment and I look forward to working with Christopher, who is a talented composer with a wholly professional attitude to his work.
I first encountered him around six years ago when he composed a fanfare for the 50th anniversary of residential courses of the Cornwall Youth Band.
Since then I’ve watched his portfolio widen and his skill as a writer develop. We have three diverse new works planned for the next few years which promise to be an exciting time."
This is an incredibly exciting partnership, which will enable me to work with the very best in the business to widen the repertoire and explore new possibilities in my writingChristopher Bond

Philip and the rest of the Cory team have made me feel so welcome already, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the initial projects we have lined up."
