A couple of places left to fill for Welsh Open

There are a couple of places left to be filled for the 2015 Welsh season opener in Porthcawl.

There are still a few places up for grabs for bands wishing to compete at the Welsh Open Entertainment Championship contest to be held at The Pavilion, Porthcawl on February 21st.

Curtain raiser

The 20 minute entertainment contest, supported by CISWO, is open to bands graded Championship and First Section, and since 1998 has provided a well supported curtain raiser for the Welsh banding season.

Bands will compete to get their hands on the magnificent CISWO Challenge Trophy, as well as a first prize of £1,000, with a generous prize pot for podium finishers, highest placed First Section Band and ‘Most Entertaining’ Band, as well as number of individual awards.

Bursary award

Competing bands may also apply for the £500 Graham Rees Bursary Award, which helps young players with their musical development.
