Hot on the heels of their recent announcement of the appointment of their new MD, Mark Bentham, Milnrow Band has also welcomed a number of new players to their ranks.

Cornet, tuba and perc

Sarah Holland joins the solo cornet bench, Matthew Beazley comes in on solo Bb Bass and Matt Whitfield takes his place in the percussion section ahead of the busy Christmas period and new contesting year.

Sarah joins the front row from Wardle Anderson Brass where she was principal cornet, whilst Matthew, who is currently studying at the RNCM joins from Wingates, after helping the band to victory at Rochdale contest.

Matt joins the percussion team from Blackburn & Darwen after depping with the band at both the British Open and Rochdale contests.

Talented trio

A spokesperson told 4BR: “We offer the new, talented trio a very warm welcome as we look ahead to an exciting 2015 season.”
