After their immensely successful inaugural Slow Melody competition earlier this year, the Rainford Band is now looking forward to accepting applications for their second event in 2015.

Success

The competition will take place in Rainford Village Hall on Sunday, February 15th, and will be adjudicated by Lesley Poole. Lesley will judge the solo and duet sections and will be joined by David Thornton for the ensemble section of the contest.

A spokesperson told 4BR: “We hope to consolidate our success from last year and continue to develop the brass players of today and encourage them to take part.”

Format

The contest will comprise of the following sections:
12 & Under; 16 & Under; Open Age; Duet; Ensemble (3-10 players)

Entrance fees are £3 for solo, £5 for duet and £10 for ensemble.
