No more Wedgwood on show at Knottingley

Dr Owen Wedgwood has taken the difficult decision to end seven great years at the helm at Knottingley Silver.

Knottinlgey

Knottingley Silver has announced that Dr Owen Wedgwood has stepped down from the position of Musical Director with the Yorkshire band.

Thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: “We would like to thank Owen for all his hard work and energy over the last few years.

He came into the band when there were only a handful of players at rehearsals and turned things around to produce some memorable performances.

Owen will be missed but we understand his reasons for wanting a change and wish him well. We hope to be able to announce his successor very soon.”

I leave with some very good memories and pride in what we have achieved together. I would like to wish the band all the very best for the futureDr Owen Wedgwood

Difficult decision

Meanwhile, Owen added: “It has been a very difficult decision to leave Knottingley. They are a lovely bunch with some very fine players but following a second trip to the Finals and nearly seven years with the band, the time feels right to move on and investigate other opportunities.

I leave with some very good memories and pride in what we have achieved together. I would like to wish the band all the very best for the future.”
