Dutch delight at Geneva

One of the elite bands in the Netherlands takes delighted delivery of their new Geneva cornets and flugel horn.

Rijnmond

Geneva BeNe Lux has announced that one of the premier bands in the Netherlands has taken the decision to perform on a full set of cornets plus a flugel horn from Geneva Instruments

Multiple champion

Brassband Rijnmond, based in Rotterdam, is a former multiple Dutch National and French Open champion and is made up of highly committed musicians, from students to high profile professionals.

They now become the latest leading top flight band to choose the Geneva brand, following the likes of Brighouse & Rastrick — and are delighted with the choice they have made.

Happy

MD, Erik van de Kolk who has been the professional conductor since 2009 told 4BR: “We are extremely happy that we have chosen Geneva Instruments.

During the test period, the sound and projection of the cornets and flugel caught my attention and the flexibility and precision they brought was superb.

The decision will bring more musical unity to the cornet section and an important link to the horns. I believe we will are already enjoying a great enhancement to the overall sound of the ensemble with our new Geneva Instruments!”

Huge musical boost

Brassband Rijnmond principal cornet, Anne Oelers added: “I have played the Geneva Symphony cornet for a while and believe the choice will give us a huge musical boost.

The homogeneous sound and fantastic intonation individually and as a section will undoubtedly be of huge future benefit.”

Relishing opportunity

Henk van Loon of Geneva BeNeLux told 4BR: “Brassband Rijnmond is one of many European bands now relishing the opportunity to try the Geneva Instruments range.

Since the Geneva BeNeLux dealership was introduced I’ve been delighted to deal with scores of bands and brass players, providing them with the specialist customer service that Geneva Instruments is renowned for.

We are delighted that Brassband Rijnmond has chosen Geneva Instruments and we are proud to be associated with a European brass band of such distinction.”
