The inaugural Austrian National Brass Band Championships, which take place on Sunday 9th November in Eferding in Upper Austria, has announced its panel of international adjudicators.
Euro 2015
The panel will consist of the highly respected Tom Brevik from Norway, composer Oliver Waespi from Switzerland and the leading Swiss orchestral conductor Philippe Bach.
The winning band in the top flight A Section will represent Austria at the 2015 European Brass Band Championships in Freiburg in Germany, whilst it is hoped that the band winning the Challenge Section will also compete in the Challenge event.
The set work in the top section will be Edward Gregson’s ‘Of Distant Memories’, with ‘Voyage of Discovery’ by Goff Richards testing the Challenge rivals.
Keen battle
There is sure to be a keen battle for domestic supremacy in the top flight with a trio of high class bands locking horns, whilst the Challenge Section sees the Youth Brass Band of Upper Austria, who recently undertook a critically acclaimed tour of the UK up against two emerging rivals.
