Recorded at the recent National Championships, this is Black Dyke in concert with conductor Nicholas Childs in the Royal Albert Hall just before they were announced as winners.
Principal cornet Richard Marshal plays the classic ‘Miss Blue Bonnett’, whilst Gary Curtain unveils ‘Carnival of Venus’ — a new set of variations by Jonathan Bates on a long established tune.
We hear the Black Dyke ‘ Big Band Set’ ending with music by one of the most popular composers today, ‘Fire in the Blood’ by Paul Lovatt-Cooper.
