The Blidworth Welfare Band is currently enjoying a highly successful 2014 contest season.

The band recently added the Bolsover Entertainment Championship First Section title to their impressive CV, following their podium finishes at this year’s NEMBBA event, the Midlands Regional contest and Buxton.

National return

Blidworth also enjoyed a fine return at the National Finals — coming 7th against a strong field of rivals before going on to win the Bolsover contest for the third time in four years.

To acknowledge the hard work of the players, annual awards were presented at a recent concert, with Morgan Gallimore, Andrew Baldwin, Trevor Milner, Phil Lee and the Bass Section being presented with individual and section honours.
