New recruits at Sandhurst

Two new player recruits join Sandhurst in time for immediate promotion...

Sandhurst

Sandhurst Silver Band has announced two key signings ahead of their return to the Championship Section in 2015.

Flugel and principal cornet

Flugel player Carol Porter joins from the Morecombe Band following her relocation with family, whilst Chris Atchley returns to the band as principal cornet following the completion of his Trumpet Performance studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance.

Intentions

MD Ian McElligott told 4BR: "These are two great signings on principal seats, hopefully signalling our intentions for the future of Sandhurst Silver on our promotion in January. I would also like to extend mine and the band's appreciation to Mark Yarham who has moved from flugel to the front row.

Our aim is to finish 2014 strongly and ready for the Yeovil and the Area contest. I feel that the players will help us make that step up, with the attempt to establish ourselves as a competitive top section band."
