The national vehicle leasing group Zenith Ltd has made a generous donation to Yorkshire based Skipton Brass to help boost the progress they have made since returning to the contesting scene three years ago.
Future foundations
And according to Band Chairman Peter Face, the band hopes their first major donation will help to lay the foundations for future success.
"We are very proud to announce the support we have received from Zenith," he told 4BR.
"Zenith is a prominent business that cares about local organisations, and we are hoping other companies will follow their lead in supporting us."
Support
Zenith is a Leeds-based fleet management and salary sacrifice specialist, and following a feature article about the band in the Yorkshire Post Magazine in August, their Chief Executive Tim Buchan, offered to donate money to support the band.
He added: "I’ve followed the story of the band and understand how close Yorkshire was to losing a part of its cultural heritage. They have worked hard to build back to strength — something I admire — and why at this stage Zenith wanted to help."
Further afield
Skipton Brass has grown rapidly in the past three years, and now attends local contests as well as looking further afield.
They also set up a successful training band, Gateway Brass in 2013, which now provides instrument and tuition for new players, with experienced band member Wilbur Paley leading the group.

Generous
Band Chairman, Peter Face added: "This generous gesture enables us to buy and refurbish instruments, buy music, provide band uniforms and equipment such as instrument mutes and music stands."
