Cardiff brass born and bred (and a cup of tea)

A new brass band based in Cardiff is set to be launched with a little help from Owen Farr.

Cathays Brass

A new brass band is set to be launched in Cardiff later this month, with Cathays Brass opening its doors to potential new members on Saturday 25th October.

Opportunities

Cathays Brass has been formed by a group of friends who are committed to developing opportunities for enthusiastic brass players in Cardiff, and has attracted the support of Cory horn star Owen Farr, who will lead the free open day event.

It all starts at 10:30am at the band’s rehearsal venue at St Joseph’s Catholic Sports & Social Club, 29 Whitchurch Road, CF14 3JN.

First rehearsal

Owen will also lead the fledgling band in its first rehearsal — with music from the likes of Matthew Hall and Christopher Bond, both of who are also supporting the venture by donating their music.

A buffet lunch will also be provided with plenty of opportunity to socialise and ask any questions.
