Fresh from their eighth consecutive top six finish at the British Open, Foden's has announced the signing of Jonny Shaw on BBb tuba from the Milnrow Band.

A former member of Fairey, Brighouse & Rastrick, the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and European Youth Brass Band, he enjoyed a highly successful three year tenure at the 2013 Grand Shield champion before deciding on making the move to Sandbach.

Speaking about the appointment, Foden’s Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "We are extremely pleased to have secured Jonny’s signing on a full time basis. He has a wealth of top band experience and will be a great asset to the team."

He added: "Foden’s would like to thank Danny Sinclair who has been covering the vacant seat for the past couple of months and played with the band at the British Open last weekend where once again we were placed in the top four bands."
